A Miracle of Hope

How far can God’s mercy reach?

Lindie Wyse is pregnant out of wedlock and thinks an arranged marriage is the only way to preserve her future. Josiah Plank is certain he’ll never love again, but he needs someone to care for his eight-year-old daughter, Hannah. The two take on their arrangement tentatively at first but soon realize they are each in for more than they imagined.

Lindie experiences a breakthrough with Hannah when she recognizes Hannah’s special gifts, but a risky pregnancy and serious health issues threaten to demolish the foundation Josiah and Lindie are building. Will their growing love survive despite their struggles, or will their hearts become as cold as the northern winter?

I spent many school hours daydreaming, mostly about horses. Coaxed by my teacher to submit a short story to the Young Authors Writing Contest, I wrote, A Dream to Remember, about a girl who daydreamed about wild horses. That contest opened my eyes to daydream with a purpose. After that, my endless imagination was limited only by how fast I could write, and sometimes I stayed up late at night writing by flashlight to finish a story.

A Miracle of Hope is a wonderful story about the power of love to draw two people together even when neither one is ready for it. Lindie and Josiah must trust God and His love to get through past loss and hurts on the way to finding each other. Heartwarming and unforgettable.

Having read Ruth Reid’s Heaven on Earth series, I knew I absolutely had to read A Miracle of Hope, and I was not the least bit disappointed. I was drawn into the story within the first page. As I continued reading, I went from feeling sad to happy, hopeless to hopeful…..right along with Lindie and Josiah. The story is tender and beautiful, and you will come away with a renewed sense of the power of love and hope and God’s awesomeness.
